The Common Redshank is a mid-sized Eurasian shorebird that resembles Greater Yellowlegs; adults have distinctive, red legs. It breeds in wetlands, damp meadows, and fresh or salt-water marshes. Uses coastal mudflats and estuaries during nonbreeding season. Noisy and gregarious, it feeds by picking at food. Diet consists of crustaceans, mollusks, marine or earthworms, and insect larvae.
